performs ContractR&D for a wide variety of industries.
Depending on the client's needs for their specific compound of
interest, gram to kilogram quantities are prepared. Along with
developing the chemistry, the necessary analytical methodology, safety
information including MSDS preparation, a complete review of the
technical literature, recommendations for alterations to improve
economics on a larger scale, are all elements that are finally
contained in a technical package prepared for each client's specific
compound. IsleChem operates on a totally confidential basis, and all
information developed for a specific client is held confidential for a
period of 10 years.
IsleChem's core chemistry competency is the result of its heritage,
i.e. Occidental Chemical, Diamond Shamrock, Firestone Plastics,
Equistar, Tenneco Plastics, etc. Areas of expertise are: chlorinations
(radical and ionic), hydrofluorination, halogen exchange with KF,
sulfonation, cyanation, hydrochlorination, alkylation, thiation,
glycidation, polymerization, esterification, formylation, Grignard
additions, high pressure operation, and general capabilities of
handling challenging chemicals.
