September 2017 - Extension of Analytical Capability

IsleChem, LLC has continued significant investment in additional analytical instrumentation. The below listing summarizes new equipment brought on-board since 2013. This investment demonstrates our commitment to support R&D and Contract Analytical Service projects, providing state of the art analytical capability. IsleChem recognizes the importance of staying current with leading edge analytical technology, providing added value for our Clients.

• Thermo LTQ-XL Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) System – Upgrade of capability to perform advanced quantitation using specificity of a higher mass resolution instrument while providing MSn capability for complex structural elucidation.

• Thermo 2100 Ion Chromatograph – IC system provides quantification of anions including fluoride, acetate, formate, chloride, sulfate, nitrite, bromide, nitrate, phosphate and iodide. Instrument successfully interfaced with mass spectrometer adding IC-MS capability to company’s portfolio.

• Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (ELSD) added to compliment UV, visible, refractive index and mass spectrometric detection for interfacing with liquid chromatography.

• TA Instruments Discovery 2500 Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) – Allows for state-of-the-art measurement of thermal events related to heat flow. Measurements include those related to melts, fusion, glass transitions, heats of reaction and heat capacity (Cp).

• TA Instruments Discovery 5500 Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer (TGA) – Measures weight change as a function of temperature. Micro balanced staged in a IR heated furnace allows for minute measurements in weight loss or gain. Experiments conducted in user selectable atmospheres allows for measurements of oxidative stability.

• Brookfield DV2T Viscometer – PC interfaced unit provides customizable speed/spindle selection for measurement of highly viscous samples.

• Fourier Transform – Infrared (FT-IR) spectrophotometer Thermo iS10 unit allows for rapid accumulation of IR data on liquids, solids and gasses. IR is a critical tool to identify functional groups on a molecule leading to structural identification.

• Ultraviolet / Visible (UV/Vis) scanning spectrophotometer - Thermo EVO201 providedsspectral data and quantification of sample solutions.

• PANalytical Epsilon 3XLE Spectrometer – Offers elemental composition for any element greater than atomic number of 10 (boron). This is often the first tool employed for identification of inorganic samples. Quantitation limit to the 50-ppm range.

• Agilent Static Headspace Autosampler for Gas Chromatography (HS/GC) – The G1888N unit is a second headspace unit adding capacity for volatiles determination.

• Agilent 7890B Gas Chromatograph – purchased with a Wasson gas control valve system allows for sampling of process gasses at 150 ºC / 150-psi. System configured with corrosive resistant materials to allow for sampling of sample streams containing HF and HCl.

• Agilent 7673N Mass Spectrometer interfaced with a 6890 GC adds capacity for GC-MS. System has a NIST 17 searchable library with 267,376 unique compounds.

• Autotitrator – Metrohm 888 Titrando – High end / precision unit provides rapid titrant delivery and accurate end point determination. PC interface allows for post calculation and long term storage of data.

August 2015 – IsleChem, LLC adds warehouse

In August 2015, IsleChem LLC added a 5600 sq ft warehouse for product and raw materials. The warehouse includes 2 trailer spots for forklift loading and unloading of box trailers. With the addition of the warehouse, Doug Williams has been named the Materials Movement Leader, a newly created position. In this position Doug is responsible for proper handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments. IsleChem LLC has gained efficiencies in material handling with this addition.

October 31, 2012 – IsleChem, LLC welcomes new chemist and chemical engineer

IsleChem, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Sean Ebert and Tim Stepniak to our staff. Sean Ebert, with a Masters in Medicinal Chemistry, brings experience in organometallic chemistry and is currently focused on IsleChem's electronic chemical synthesis. IsleChem has increased the chemical engineering staff with the addition of Tim Stepniak, a recent University of Buffalo graduate. Tim has made an immediate impact in the Process Scale Up and Manufacturing area with contributions in equipment and process configurations.

October 30, 2012 – New centrifuge expands solid/liquid separation capacity

IsleChem, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of a Heinkel 600 Inverted Basket Centrifuge for solid/liquid separation. With a capacity of 52 liters and operating speed of 1800 rpm, the Heinkel 600 fills a gap between IsleChem's larger and smaller capacity centrifuges, complimenting our expertise in complex chemistry, advanced analytical procedures and our handling of challenging chemicals.

June 3, 2012 - Extension of ICP Spectrometry Capability

IsleChem, LLC has extended spectrometry capability with the purchase and installation of a Perkin-Elmer Optima 7300DV Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Spectrometer. With the addition of this fourth ICP unit, IsleChem has expanded capacity and enhanced ability to detect trace metals down to parts per billion (ppb) detection limits.
